Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Growing up in Hong Kong, Thanksgiving was not on our calendars. And Black Friday? To a Chinese person, this sounds like an especially unlucky day, and definitely not one where you would want to go shopping. But after going to school in the US and learning about the Pilgrims and what they went through, Thanksgiving has become something truly special to me.
Every Thanksgiving, my mother in law reads a short essay about how the Pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving to remind us to be grateful for what we have. It is called the FIVE GRAINS OF CORN and has become one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions. (Scroll Down)
