We moved back from overseas for about 5 years now. I didn't realize I have some of the symptoms until recently after seeing a lot of "SAD" showed up on a mom FB group discussion in my town. I looked SAD up and found a lot of articles about "Seasonal Affective Disorder" or people called it "Winter Blues".
I grew up in Hong Kong most of my life. We didn't have extreme cold weather. I only remembered it got really cold about 10 degrees for about 1-2 weeks. That's why I didn't realized I was experiencing a few of the followings:
- Less energy
- Trouble concentrating
- Greater appetite
- Increased desire to be alone
- Greater need for sleep
- Weight gain
Next time when you see a gloomy sky and do not feel like you want to get up. Try to do any of the methods to help you fight winter blues and continue to do what you love. I am doing the same and they help.
